There are days
23 February 2021
There are days. At one moment, you feel as if your whole world is collapsing. Pieces of you are slipping away, and you feel as though your emotions will kill you. You can only hope and plead with the world around you for things to get better. Because at that moment, nothing can help you.
Then suddenly, bright flashes appear. And once again you have energy and a desire to live. You're happy, and you can function again.
But don't celebrate too soon.
Bad days and bad moments can return very quickly. Sometimes even more brutally than before. None of us can control it.
And sometimes even worse days and moments come, when you long to do something. Save the situation. Be with that person, see them, feel them. You would give a piece of your own life if it would help. But you can't do anything. Nothing at all. You can only watch the people you love suffer. And you can't do anything.
Hopelessness is slowly killing you. And you have to keep trying and look for strength. The strength to keep fighting.
Hope can always be found somewhere. You must never bury your faith in better moments. Sometimes you are the one who has to stay positive when everyone else can no longer manage it.
Better days always return. And things are never quite as bad as they seem. Bad things happen, I admit. We have to learn how to deal with them. But we must not make bad things even worse. People have become far too pessimistic. They can no longer see anything except the negative.
Bad days come. Days when you feel your emotions flooding over you until you drown in them. But stop. Breathe. Try to learn to swim in your own sea of tears, fear, and hopelessness. Only then can you find faith in the better days that will certainly come. Sometimes it just takes a little longer.
Every day is different. You cannot know what the next one has in store for you. Just try, every single time before you go to sleep, to wish for the next day to be better.
You always have to be prepared for the next day to be even worse. You have to learn how to cope with it. How to do that, I still don't know myself. It always hits me so hard that the surge of emotion and hopelessness feels as though it literally wants to kill me.
You think you're an introvert. You don't need people; you're enough on your own. But try losing, from one day to the next, someone who was by your side every day. Only then will you feel that devastating loneliness.
If this text found you in one of those days, feel free to leave a little heart on the article or share it with someone who might need it today.
I would be so grateful.
